中秋节    Zhōngqiū jié    Mid-Autumn Festival

1) 今天是中秋节    Jīntiān shì zhōngqiū jié    Today is the Mid-Autumn Festival

月亮 yuè liang     the moon

= 月球 yuè qiú the moon (This is a more formal way of saying the moon)

球 qiú ball / sphere / globe

地球 dì qiú the earth / CL:個|个[ge4]

月饼 yuè bǐng     mooncake (esp. for the Mid-Autumn Festival)

饼干 cookie / biscuit / cracker 

2. 我喜欢吃月饼    Wǒ xǐhuān chī yuèbǐng    I like to eat moon cakes

灯笼 dēng lóng lantern

灯            dēng                light

特别 tè bié          special / particular / unusual /especially 

今天是很特别的日子       Jīntiān shì hěn tèbié de rìzi    Today is a special day

因为 yīn wèi because / owing to / on account of

因为今天是中秋节         Yīn wéi jīntiān shì zhōngqiū jié     

Because today is the Mid-Autumn Festival

3) 我喜欢看月亮    Wǒ xǐhuān kàn yuèliàng    

I like to watch the moon

4) 美国人在1969年去了月球     Měiguó rén zài 1969 nián qùle yuèqiú  

Americans went to the Moon in 1969

5) 我们爱我们的地球    Wǒmen ài wǒmen dì dìqiú    

We love our Earth

6) 但是我们想去月球玩    Dànshì wǒmen xiǎng qù yuèqiú wán    

But we want to go to the moon to play

玩 wán         to play / to have fun 

我喜欢玩球    Wǒ xǐhuān wán qiú    I like to play ball
